Suitable for Plastics, Textiles, Metal, Paper, and all rapid production facilities.
Dextralog have been in Australia for 16 years with an impressive user base.
Dextralog Monitoring Systems are designed to provide real time and
stored information
concerning the performance and efficiency of production machinery.
This information can be used in many different ways to ensure that
production is
maintained at the highest level of performance.
The Dextralog System monitors the performance of your machines minute
by minute. It reports on the production count, efficiency, downtime
and completed product. The System automatically collects this information
requiring no human intervention. A plan is entered and the System
keeps track of a job’s progress including forecasting job changes.
The system works by connecting directly to your production machinery. The efficiency is calculated each minute dependent if the machine is running or stopped. If the machine is stopped the machine operator inputs a reason of downtime from a list of upto 20 causes.
Efficiency
uptime / downtime * 100%
Production count
Units produced
speed
Speed in units per minute or seconds per cycle
downtime
minutes lost, number of stops and percentage lost over pre-defined cause
(upto 20)
Job quantity to be done
Time to complete the job

A screen dump of the opening Colour Plan screen follows. The FACTORY AUTOMATION and BARCODING system (FAB) is the latest monitoring system now designed in Australia by Dextralog Computers. The system is extremely visual taking advantage of the Windows operating system. This provides for maximum motivation of production personnel and management and is extremely easy to use.
Integral with the new system is a closed loop quality system ensuring
that each finished item has a unique identifier and a quality status with
full history.
Communication - Communications will be improved because supportive staff i.e., supervisors, maintenance, electricians, managers can see the current state of play on all the machines and priorities can be sorted out much more easily.
Speed - It will be possible to optimise machine speed accurately. By 100% speed monitoring it is much easier to keep track of machines’ performances and a fluctuation of as little as 1% in speed can greatly affect the production rate.
Relations - Industrial relations will be improved because DEXTRALOG is impartial; everybody knows what the problems are. Of course, everybody also knows which are the areas of high productivity so people can be praised immediately for good work.
Motivation - Individual machine efficiency displays on the terminals will give operators a performance feedback thus giving excellent motivation, a better sense of involvement and responsibility.
Control - Production Control will be enhanced because management will be able to see the current production status at any point in time and warnings of impending changes will improve planning accuracy and reduce downtime. Planning of materials and sales forecasting will be greatly improved.
Costing - Accurate feedback of job costing will result because the actual change and Run Time will be measured by the System. The System will produce an overall job efficiency.
Feedback - Improved feedback of information keeps factory personnel and management constantly Informed of the “state of play”. The new system will greatly enhance the information feedback so that efficiency, orders, quality and stock will always be evident.
Planning - More detailed reports will allow for more precise planning and less time required to carry out.
Reports - The new system reports will be streamlined so that reports are more meaningful with less quantity.
Exceptions - The new system will use exceptions to highlight problems automatically. Eg machines running slow.
Grading - Both an automatic and manual grading system will be implemented. This will result in a closed loop approach to quality so that faulty product cannot “slip through”. A new approach to grading will be implemented - rolls will become isolated if there are any problems and require release by a supervisor.
Paperwork - Factory paperwork will be automatically generated as required. This will result in less errors while also reducing the quantity of paperwork..
Errors - Human errors will be reduced with a streamlined computer system. There is less scope for errors because people must follow the system.
Integration - The System will integrate with current information
systems, including Lotus and Excel using a Network.
These are some of the many benefits of the New Dextralog Factory
Automation System. Perhaps one of the most important benefits to your business
of the new System is “management peace of mind” – ie your business is a
company using all the latest technology and resources available to the
utmost capacity thus ensuring a highly productive and efficient business
being more able to compete on the open market.
